Bronze figure group of an elephant fighting tigers Japan, Meiji Period, 19th century

The elephant has been modelled rearing up on two legs as one tiger attacks its belly and the other its back. The elephant has ivory tusks. It is signed on the belly.

21cm high

Condition

The ivory tusks are stained and the glue is old and they can be removed from their sockets. There is light wear to the base. Otherwise the figure group is in good condition.
