Imari porcelain jug and cover China, Qing Dynasty, Kangxi, early 18th century

SOLD

The jug is of squat ovoid form with a sparrow beak and loop handle. It is decorated in underglaze blue and overglaze red with floral sprays. The base bears and exhibition label 'No.73/33, 5/4/81, On loan from J.R. Findlay Esq.' and a subsequent label '18 R.T.'

Condition

The cover is chipped on the rim. The handle is chipped and there is a hairline crack from the rim to the handle. There are some minor marks, scratches and rubbing to the glaze and decoration.
