Carved cinnabar lacquer box China, Qing Dynasty, 19th century

The box is of circular form. The cover has a circular reserve of a fisherman beside a stream with a willow tree and mountainous background. There is a scrolling lotus border. The base has a circular reserve of a large flowering peony which is surrounded by a similar scrolling lotus border.

Condition

The cover is slightly faded. The interior rim has slight losses to the lacquer, but overall it is in good condition.
