Decorated with figures in a rocky landscape with bamboo.
56cm wide, 23cm high, 38cm deep
The box is cracked on the base and back. There are chips to the sides and some flaking to the mother of pearl. Overall it is in good condition for this type of box.
For similar examples of this technique in the Qing Dynasty see Simon Kwan, Chinese Mother of Pearl, The Muwen Tang Collection Series, volume 13, 2009, plates 82-93.
