Bronze elephant, by Yoshimitsu Japan, Meiji Period, late 19th century

The elephant is modelled walking forward with its trunk curled as if it is eating food. The tusks are most probably made from bone. There is a rectangular silver cartouche on the belly of the elephant. It is signed with a two character mark.

Condition

There is light rubbing otherwise it is in good condition.
