Decorated with birds and flowers to the exterior and a dragon and shrimps to the interior, swastika mark to base


20cm wide, 10cm high

The foot-rim is restored with a metal band, the porcelain has glaze imperfections; otherwise, it is in good condition


There has been much debate as to the origin of this bowl. Some people believe it to be Chinese and made for an export market to Japan. Other people think it is Japanese. The decoration is unusual and uncharacteristic of its time and it may have been made in a provincial kiln.
