Note

A similar one sold at Christies Amsterdam Vung Tao Cargo Sale on 7th April 1992, lot 1. In 1989 Vietnamese fishermen trawling the seabed discovered porcelain in their nets. Marine archaeologists then discovered the wreck of ship carrying porcelain not far from the island of Vung Tao in Vietnam. This wreck was unusual in that the ship was carrying large pieces for display in palaces and large houses rather than dinnerwares.
